Gautrain launches R1 parking
Gautrain has launched a holiday special, charging R1 per day for parking at its various stations.
The offer is valid from from the 12 December to 12 January, and is also valid for all Gautrain bus trips.
The rail network operator said in a statement:
“This offer is valid at any Gautrain parking facility (subject to space availability). The offer is valid only if you park and then complete any return train journey between 12 Dec 2014 and 12 Jan 2015 (both dates inclusive).
“You must exit the parking on or before 12 January 2015 (using the same Gold Card that you used to catch the train) and within 1 hour of your return train trip, failing which standard parking rates will apply for your full parking period.”
For bus fares, a rail user single fare costs R6.
For reference, the typical parking fees for non-holiday periods vary between R18 for 24 hour parking if you’re a rail user, to R495 for ten days and R100 every day thereafter.
