A look inside the top-rated luxury hotel in South Africa

Traveller magazine, Conde Nast Traveller has released its list of the top 50 hotels in the world, listing one South Africa hotel among the award winners.

Ranking as the 13th best hotel in the world, luxury hotel in Cape Town, Ellerman House has been named as the top hotel in South Africa.

Ellerman is an adults-only hotel (14 and up) situated on the slopes of Lion’s Head in the Bantry Bay residential area in Cape Town.

The boutique hotel has 11 rooms, 2 suites and 2 three-bedroom Villas, and offers much in the way of exclusive, private, luxury living.

It features two lounges, a library, a dining room, three dining terraces, a spa, a fitness centre, pool, brandy lounge, Wine Gallery, Contemporary Art Gallery and Champagne Cellar.

A stay does not come cheap, though, with the 2017 rates showing the cheapest room going for R11,000 per night, per room (R8,500 during the low season), with the luxury Villa One with exclusive spa use going for R146,000 per night (R111,000 during low season).

The stay includes breakfast, transfers to and from the airport and access to the spa and fitness centre. The Villa includes its own personal chef and its own hospitality team.
