Facebook Messenger adverts are going global
Facebook says it plans to start rolling out Messenger ads globally over the next few weeks.
“Messenger ads are going global. After promising tests in Australia and Thailand, we’re expanding the beta further. We’ll now offer businesses around the world a way to use Facebook targeting to extend their reach to people in Messenger,” the company said on Tuesday.
The adverts will be shown in the main inbox tab between chat threads.
Facebook noted that more than 1.2 billion people use Messenger every month, “which gives marketers an opportunity to expand the reach of their campaigns and drive more results,” the social network said as it looks to create more revenue.
Facebook said it will start rolling out ads slowly, with a small percentage of people around the world starting to see Messenger ads in the coming weeks.
