E-tolls collection company CEO resigns
CEO at Electronic Tolling Collection, the company providing collection services for the e-tolls project in Gauteng, Salahdin Yacoubi has resigned after nearly five years with the company.
Jamie Surkont has taken over as CEO of ETC, the company set up in 2009 to deliver a 10 year contract to provide toll collection services across 185 km of renovated highways in Gauteng province.
It is not yet clear why Yacoubi resigned, as messages were directed towards Surkont’s email address.
ETC is a joint venture between black empowered company, Traffic Management Technologies (TMT) and Austrian e-tolling company, Kapsch TrafficCom.
Surkont was previously general manager for Intelleigent Transport Solutions at Traffic Management Technologies.
According to Fin24, National roads agency Sanral, Yacoubi’s resignation would have no impact on its contract with ETC.
“Sanral has a contract with ETC and the resignation of its CEO has no impact on that contract. The work ETC is doing for Sanral will continue,” Sanral’s Vusi Mona said.
