Former Miss South Africa joins Naspers

Media24, the print media arm of listed company Naspers, has appointed Jo-Ann Held as a director of the company.

According to Media24, Held (Strauss) is a media entrepreneur who, among others, presents and has produced her own prime time TV show.

She also has several corporate enterprises and is a director of Partnership Investments, a company with interests in media, mining and property.

She also serves on the Western Cape Board of Ubuntu Botho (part of Sanlam) and the board of M&C Saatchi Abel, one of SA’s leading advertising agencies. She obtained a BCom (Law) degree at Stellenbosch University.

Held is a former Miss South Africa, was a presenter of Pasella and is still involved as a presenter at Top Billing.

“She is a popular speaker about various subjects such as gender issues, the new business environment and corporate transformation. She is actively involved in several charity initiatives,” Media24 said.
