Rand Daily Mail launches online
Three decades after the Rand Daily Mail was shut down, it has been re-launched in the form of a new website.
The editor of the new Rand Daily Mail is Ray Hartley – the former editor of the Sunday Times and The Times.
He said that they have rebooted the Rand Daily Mail brand and adapted it to the needs of the new media age.
“The site will endeavour to carry forward the values of the Rand Daily Mail, a fearless, critical, and independent media voice for a free society under apartheid,” said Hartley.
The Rand Daily Mail will feature all the top writers from the Times media stable of print and online publications, including the Sunday Times, The Times, and Business Day.
The journalists and columnists for the Rand Daily Mail include Justice Malala, Tony Leon, Jonathan Jansen, Peter Bruce, Hilary Joffe, and S’thembiso Msomi.
