Telkom offers a free DStv Explora for broadband customers
Telkom is offering a free DStv Explora decoder with its SmartHome Premium package for R899 per month on a 24 month contract.
The offer is available from 22 November 2014 to new and existing Telkom customers, the group said on Thursday (20 November 2014).
The news emerged earlier this week that Telkom would offer free DStv Explora decoders to subscribers that take up 10Mbps or faster DSL services on a 24-month contract.
Telkom said that this offer applies to existing subscribers that upgrade to 10Mbps (or faster) lines, or new customers that take up 10Mbps (or faster) services from 23 November 2014.
According to Telkom, it has entered into an exclusive deal with MultiChoice to offer these packages, and it added that it will also sell the Explora and the DStv Wi-Fi Connector from its stores.
Customers will be able to get the DStv Explora for R1,999, and the DStv WiFi Connector for R399, Telkom said.
Customers will need to link their DStv Explora to their existing internet router, either by Ethernet cable or using the DStv WiFi Connector to enable these new services.
