Load shedding risk low on Thursday
Eskom says that there is a low to medium probability of load shedding on Thursday (12 February), though warns its systems remain constrained.
Eskom has had to implement load shedding between stage one and three almost every day for the past few weeks.
During stage one blackouts 1000MW of the national load is cut, 2000MW during stage two, and 4000MW in stage three.
The power utility said its system remained severely constrained and would be for the rest of the week.
The grid would remain under pressure for the forseeable future, with currently projections seeing the system in the red until April at the very least.
Eskom said on Wednesday that it had found that numerous municipalities left street lights on during the day, while people also left their house lights on.
