Links to big Black Friday sales happening in South Africa today

 ·28 Nov 2025

Black Friday 2025 has kicked off, with South Africa’s biggest brands and retailers putting forward big specials in the hopes of drawing shoppers.

While sales have been ongoing throughout November, most retailers save their best deals for the final weekend in the month, with online sellers carrying over the period to Cyber Monday.

According to analysts, Black Friday shopping is expected to top R3 billion in sales in South Africa this year, with early sales data already pointing to significant demand from consumers.

This has been aided by a far more optimistic economic tone in the third quarter of the year, low inflation, and a recent interest rate cut giving consumers that much more spending power.

Black Friday has traditionally been a sales day (now month) for big-ticket items and “wants” as retailers clear out stock for the Festive Season.

However, South Africa’s shopping habits have put the focus more on value hunting and stocking up on household essentials for the coming December break through a much longer stretch through to payday in January.

As with previous years, financial experts have warned against reckless spending and advised eager shoppers to stick to their budgets.

Banks have also been warning consumers to be on alert for scams and unscrupulous dealers, and to ensure that all terms and conditions of sale have been read and understood before swiping or hitting the checkout online.

Hundreds of retailers and services are hosting Black Friday specials today.
