FNB lets you buy with your smartphone instead of a bank card

 ·5 Oct 2016

FNB has launched FNB Pay, which lets customers make in-store purchases using their smartphone instead of a bank card.

FNB Pay works through the FNB banking app, and is currently available for Android devices.

“To use FNB Pay, you only need to download the latest version of the FNB Banking App and register your qualifying card,” said FNB.

Users can then tap their NFC-capable smartphone on a supported card machine to make payments when they see the “contactless” logo.

The service lets users make payments up to R200 without having to enter a PIN.
