Nedbank launches new ‘interactive’ ATM
Nedbank has launched a new “interactive” ATM – a first for Africa – giving customers access to live teller services over video, at any time, right from the machine.
According to Nedbank, the device effectively transforms a conventional ATM into an interactive on-screen banking session with teller anytime of the day or night.
“This ATM also responds to the growing trend and need for business and individual clients to make large deposits and withdrawals at unconventional business hours.”
It allows card-less deposits and withdrawals exceeding conventional ATM limits and enables clients to interact with a video Teller while transacting.
“Furthermore, it also enables branch staff to have a real time view of client detail and allows clients to experience a more personalised interaction when transacting at our self-service devices,” the group said.
Nedbank has only launched one teller so far – located at the 135 Rivonia Branch in Sandton – but plans to announce a roll out plan soon, it said.
