Former FNB Connect lead joins Microsoft

The former head of FNB Connect, Farren Roper, has joined software firm Microsoft in the role of central marketing organisation (CMO) lead.

FNB announced at the end of September 2013, that Roper would be stepping down from his position to pursue “a great opportunity in the telecoms space”.

FNB Connect is an Internet service provider which operates as a business unit within FirstRand Bank Limited.

Microsoft confirmed the appointment after Roper announced the news on Twitter on Friday (2 May).

Roper had filled the role of Head of FNB Connect ISP and Business Operations since 2009.

He joined FNB in May 2008 where his legal career opened a path for him at FNB Connect as Head of Legal Risk and Compliance, where he quickly became a telecommunications regulatory and governance specialist.
