Black Friday deals to further your education in South Africa

While Black Friday typically brings a barrage of sales and specials on consumer goods and electronics, there are a few discounts available for the country’s biggest shopping day to help you further your education or develop new skills.

Juta Books

Juta Books is having a Black Friday sale, offering discounts on selected academic and legal books.

The group is one of the biggest suppliers of texts and documents for universities and colleges, so the sale may be the perfect time to get a jump on works needed for the academic year ahead.


Capsicum Culinary School

AdvTech’s Capsicum Culinary School is running a Black Friday special on enrolments for 2021, offering a 10% discount on courses.

You will need to go through to any Capsicum campus from 08h00 to 17h00 on Friday (27 November 2020) and register for select courses.

Attend one of 6 campuses (Boksburg, Cape Town, Durban, Port Elizabeth, Pretoria, Rosebank) and register by providing your ID documents, registration details and a deposit as stated per programme below.

The courses on offer include

  • Advanced Culinary Arts (R10,000 deposit on Black Friday and the remainder by 18 December at 12h00)
  • Professional Chef Programme (R10,000 deposit is payable on Black Friday and the remainder by 18 December at 12h00)
  • Professional Patisserie Programme (Deposit R10,000 is payable on Black Friday and the remainder by 18 December at 12h00)

TEFL Academy

The TEFL Academy is offering up to 60% off courses that will help budding travellers experience the adventure of teaching English in foreign countries. The courses on offer vary from 10 hour teaching practice courses, to full 198 hour TEFL level 5 training.

Damelin Online is offering up to 50% off all of its online courses. The offers are not just available on Black Friday (27 November), but will still be running for 14 days after the fact.

Online course platform, Udemy, is currently running a one-day-only Black Friday campaign, site-wide, which heavily discounts a variety of courses on offer.

The platform has a particular focus on digital and programming courses, offered by experts and professionals in their fields. Thousands of courses can be accessed via the site.
