A look at 7 of the offices which have been named the best places to work

Employment website Glassdoor has published its list of the best companies to work for in 2017.

This year Facebook earned the number one spot, followed by management consulting companies Bain and Company and Boston Consulting Group. Other top companies on the list include Google, Starbucks Microsoft and 3M.

As part of the report Glassdoor found that one of the key factors in making the list was ensuring that a company’s employees were happy and comfortable. This includes awesome perks and benefits, the surrounding culture as well as the offices themselves – all of which contribute to a good overall work environment.

Below is a look at some of the awesome offices at these top companies.


Starbucks

Starbucks has over 25,000 stores around the world meaning it has one of the most diverse business environments around. However the standout is the Starbucks “Bank” concept store in Amsterdam.

The store is situated in a 430 square metre subterranean vault in a historic bank, but features locally designed touches and sustainable materials including floor-to-ceiling murals and re-purposed Dutch oak.


3M

3M’s global design team works in this space to innovate on technology platforms, thousands of products and create the next big idea.


Google

While Google has become famous for its Googleplex campus based in Santa Clara, the company’s headquarters in Irvine, California is also garnering significant praise.

Walls and ceilings feature scenic images of the shoreline, aqua bikes are readily available for easy travel, and empolyees can head to the rooftop to work around the fire pit or have a meeting in the “lifeguard hut” on the terrace.


Nike

Employees at Nike’s headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon have access to nearly every sporting facility under the sun – including a football fields, spinning classes and a full running track.

Even meetings are regularly held while out on the hiking trail.


Blizzard Entertainment

Sticking true to its game developer roots, Blizzard Entertainment’s offices are a mash-up of comic book, science-fiction an cutting-edge technology.

Massive statues from the game line the halls and even the office gym features a massive mural of the company’s characters.


SpaceX

While SpaceX employees are known to work long and difficult hours, they do so in one of the most cutting-edge workspaces in the world.

The launch and test teams  are arguably the luckiest as they work in massive spacecraft hangars.


SAP

SAP’s global offices all centre around a theme of sustainability and global collaboration.

However this doesn’t mean that the offices are not also cutting-edge, with telephone booths, collaboration areas and several meeting and conference rooms all available.
