Pick n Pay and FNB team up

FNB and Pick n Pay have announced a partnership offering additional rewards to their joint customers, resulting in savings on everyday essentials, groceries, and clothing.
Starting 1 November 2024, qualifying FNB Private Clients and eBucks members from RMB Private Bank will be able to earn up to 30% of their spending back in eBucks when using Pick n Pay’s asap! on-demand delivery service.
In-store purchases at Pick n Pay will yield up to 20% back in eBucks.
This includes FNB Private Clients and Private Wealth together with RMB Private Bank. FNB Easy customers also receive up to R100 in vouchers.
Pick n Pay Clothing has been included in the rewards program. Customers on the Aspire plan can earn up to R150 back in eBucks, while Premier, Private Clients, Private Wealth, and RMB Private Bank members will receive up to 20% back on clothing purchases.
From 1 November, all FNB cardholders enrolled in eBucks will also be able to spend their eBucks at Pick n Pay locations.

Sizwe Nxedlana, CEO of FNB’s Private Segment, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, stating that it reflects the commitment of both brands to enhance customer value.
“This partnership represents the next step in our ongoing journey to help South Africans get more value from their everyday spending,” he said.
The partnership was initially introduced with a promotional offer of 99c bread, designed to provide essential savings for entry-level clients.
FNB Easy Bundle and PAYU account holders can purchase up to four loaves of bread monthly at this reduced price using their FNB Easy Debit Card.
Pick n Pay CEO Sean Summers described the partnership as a significant move for both companies.
“We know how important tangible rewards are as consumers come under financial pressure,” said Summers.
“We are already seeing strong redemption rates from the 99c bread promotion, and we’re thrilled to extend more rewards to eBucks’ six million active customer base,” he added.
The retailer said that it will continue to offer rewards through Pick n Pay’s Smart Shopper program, which provides instant cash savings and points with every purchase.
The Smart Shopper program recently introduced the Live Well Club, offering additional discounts for healthier food choices.
Nxedlana highlighted that the collaboration aims to broaden the earning potential for FNB customers through various retail partners.
He mentioned that FNB customers with annual earnings between R750,000 and R1.4 million typically spend significantly more (40%) on online grocery deliveries than in-store purchases, reinforcing the need for high reward rates on delivery services.
“We continue to see the valuable impact of eBucks in catering to the needs of our customers and enabling them to stretch their rands even further, this is also why limiting our offering to certain items was not an option for us,” said Nxedlana.
“We cover the full basket, and this is a really big step for a free rewards program –our reward programme has been designed to offer real help and has become an integral part of our customers’ monthly budgets as they supplement their household expenses, especially during these challenging economic times,” he added.
