Petrol price relief on the cards for SA consumers
South African motorists are in for some relief in November, according to forecasts from Solidarity Research.
Paul Joubert, senior researcher at Solidarity, said that he expects the price of petrol to decrease about 20 cents, with diesel seen about 10 cents cheaper.
It comes on the back of a slight decrease by 2 cents per litre for 93 EPU/LRP petrol, and an increase of 4 cents for 95 EPU/LRP petrol in October.
Diesel however, increased by as much as 53 cents and 51 cents per litre for 0.05% and 0.005% sulphur, respectively.
Joubert pointed to the fairly significant strengthening of the rand in recent sessions, which if continued up to the end of October, is likely to transfer to cheaper petrol prices.
These figures are, of course, subject to revision, the researcher said.
