Yergin begins by highlighting his journey to being named “America’s most influential energy pundit” by the New York Times.
He then talks about the global energy sector and how it is being massively impacted by the war between Ukraine and Russia.
He highlights how Eastern countries such as India and China are benefiting from energy deals with Russia and explains how this is affecting the global energy sector.
Yergin also unpacks whether cleaner energy source commitments could reduce the world’s reliance on Russia.
He then talks about the general issues facing the energy sector, such as climate change and the impact of the pandemic, which forced many nations to put their clean energy goals on hold.
Finally, Yergin provides his predictions for the state of the global energy sector.
