Load shedding update for the week – here’s the new schedule
Eskom has announced the new load shedding schedule for the week ahead, with a rotation between stages 2 and 3 expected for the rest of the week.
Eskom said that breakdowns currently stand at 15,984MW of generation capacity, but six generation units are expected to return to service tomorrow, 26 September.
Stage 3 load shedding will thus remain implemented from now until 05h00 on Tuesday, 26 September.
Thereafter, stage 2 will be in effect from 0500 to 16h00, with stage 3 then kicking in again until 05h00 on Wednesday, 27 September.
Eskom said that this pattern will continue for the rest of the week. The load shedding schedule for the week ahead can be found below:
Monday, 25 September (except for parts of the Western and Eastern Cape)
- 00h00 to – Stage 3
Tuesday, 26 September
- 00h00 to 05h00 – Stage 3
- 05h00 to 16h00 – Stage 2
- 16h00 to 00h00 – Stage 3
Wednesday, 27 September
- 00h00 to 05h00 – Stage 3
- 05h00 to 16h00 – Stage 2
- 16h00 to 00h00 – Stage 3
