Eskom suspends load shedding during the day
Due to lower demand and further improvement in generation capacity, Eskom has announced that load shedding will be suspended from 12h00 on Tuesday (12 December) until 16h00.
After the brief suspension, stage 2 load shedding will be implemented from 16h00 to midnight, after which outages will again be suspended until 16h00 on Wednesday.
The easing of load shedding follows an earlier downgrade to a stage 2 and stage 3 rotation on Tuesday morning.
Eskom said it would continue monitoring the power system closely and would communicate should any significant changes occur, with the next update expected on Wednesday.
