In this Business Talk with Michael Avery interview, ENERTRAG South Africa’s Director of Project Development Mercia Grimbeek discusses the work the organisation is doing in the country’s renewable energy sector.
Grimbeek is a thought leader in the renewable energy space and has extensive leadership experience, thanks to her previous role on the leadership team of a multi-national company.
She actively participates in the betterment of South Africa’s energy landscape and has served as a board member and chairperson of the South African Wind Energy Association.
Grimbeek has also worked on a wide range of renewable projects and has consulted with multiple IPPs on socio-economic and economic development projects.
For her work, she was recognised as an Africa Energy Elite for 2022 in the Leadership Category, as well the AEE Energy Professional of the Year for 2022. In 2023, Grimbeek was recognised as AEE Sub-Saharan Energy Engineer, thanks to her contribution to South Africa’s energy sector.
Grimbeek’s qualifications include a BCom, Certification in Compliance Management and Values-Based Leadership, and an Executive Development Programme certification from Stellenbosch Business School.
