Business Talk – BLSA CEO Busisiwe Mavuso on the future of South Africa
In this episode of Business Talk, Busisiwe Mavuso – CEO of Business Leadership South Africa (BLSA) – discusses the fiscal future of South Africa.
Mavuso is a Chartered Accountant with the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants in the United Kingdom (ACCA-UK) and holds the following qualifications:
- A Master’s degree in Business Leadership from UNISA SBL
- A Postgraduate Qualification in Business Management from GIBS
- A BCompt from UNISA
She started her finance career in the banking industry in 1995 and has since worked in industries such as training, consulting, telecoms, and healthcare.
Mavuso is also known as an advocate for inclusive socio-economic growth, transformation, and people’s development – which led her to become the Chief Operating Officer at BLSA in November 2017.
She was then appointed as the organization’s CEO in June 2019.
In addition to this, Mavuso is a non-executive director on the boards of Business Unity South Africa (BUSA), Eskom, Resultant Finance (a PIC investee company), and BMF Investment.
