In this Business Talk with Michael Avery interview, Lindiwe Monyae discusses the social and economic power of pension funds in South Africa.

Monyae is the Managing Executive for Corporate Benefits at Liberty Group South Africa and an industry veteran with over 20 years of experience.

In her current role, Monyae oversees Liberty’s efforts to address employers’ people risk and improve the employee value proposition for small, medium, and large businesses.

This is achieved through solutions such as Umbrella Funds, Group Risk, Consulting and Actuarial Services, and Value-Added Services.

Monyae has also served as an Executive for Emerging Consumer Market and a Divisional Director for Individual Arrangements at Liberty.

Prior to joining Liberty, Monyae worked at multiple leading South African companies in key positions.

These include working as an HR Executive for Old Mutual, a Human Resources Consultant for ABI, and a Sourcing and Talent Manager for Old Mutual South Africa.

Monyae supplements this extensive experience with a strong academic foundation.

She holds an Executive MBA from the Graduate School of Business – University of Cape Town, and an Honours degree in Industrial Psychology from the University of Witwatersrand.
