Watch: Constitutional Court ruling on Nkandla
The Constitutional Court is set to deliver its ruling on president Jacob Zuma’s Nkandla home.
The DA and the EFF brought a case against president Zuma on the Nkandla matter, challenging previous claims that the Public Protector’s report was not legally binding and that he did not owe money for so-called security upgrades to the homestead.
In proceedings at the court, Zuma’s defence conceded that the president should pay a portion of the money used.
The ruling today should put an end to the long-running saga, as well as clarify the legal implications of the Public Protector’s powers.
