 ·8 Mar 2012

Cabinet has approved a national cyber security policy framework for South Africa, Minister in the Presidency Collins Chabane said on Thursday.

Briefing the media in Cape Town following Cabinet’s fortnightly meeting the day before, he said the framework was aimed at addressing national security threats in cyber space.

It would “combat cyber warfare, cyber crime and cyber ills”, as well as build confidence and trust in the secure use of information and communication technologies, he said.
