Acer Africa head steps down

Acer Africa country manager, Hans Swart has stepped down from the company “to pursue his next career opportunity outside Acer”, the hardware and electronics company has said.

Swart, who took up the position in November 2012, had previously served as chief financial officer at the company.

David Drummond will take up the position of country manager for Acer Southern Africa, effective October 1st 2013.

“David has a long standing history with Acer and is a highly respected manager in the industry. He brings in-depth leadership from sales, expertise on the business in the region and a wealth of customer relationships,” the company said in a statement on Friday (13 September).

“David will make an excellent addition to our local team and I am confident that we can further position the Acer portfolio as premium devices whilst continuing to strengthen our brand as leaders in the market,” said Amin Mortazavi, VP, Acer Middle East and Africa.
