1. General Ledger Outlier
GL Outlier is an AI-powered tool that detects anomalous data entries and prompts users to confirm whether a mistake has been made.

2. Accounts Payable Automation
Another example of AI being used in Sage Intacct is its Accounts Payable Account Automation tool.
This tool uses Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to convert invoices into editable text before automatically drafting the appropriate financial documents in response.
Without AP Account Automation, businesses must manually generate each financial document – which amounts to thousands of hours of mundane work for employees.
3. Supplies inventory
Employees can enter requisitions for items designated as supplies inventory, such as office or programme supplies, or computer equipment. This can be fulfilled immediately; or routed through an approval process. The supplies manager can then fulfil the order by completing one of the following tasks:
- Issue items directly from the available inventory
- Create a purchase order if an item is not available internally
- Create a direct shipment purchase from the vendor to the employee
Not only does this streamlined ordering process allows the supplies manager to easily process requests, but they can also:
- Track supplies requisitions
- Gain insights into usage trends and cost insights across periods
- Manage inventory levels and reorder when needed to avoid availability delays
