GoTyme Bank is no.1 app in SA as it hits one million app migrations
Less than three months since launching its new app, GoTyme Bank, formerly TymeBank, has successfully migrated over one million customers – marking a major milestone for South Africa’s fastest-growing digital bank.
This achievement coincides with the rollout of dedicated Customer Hubs in 27 malls across Gauteng and the Western Cape, reinforcing GoTyme Bank’s commitment to combining digital innovation with accessible, on-the-ground support.
Driven by a carefully managed migration strategy prioritising security, stability and customer experience, customers transitioned seamlessly to the new platform. Accessing the new app is simple: customers download it and sign in via biometric verification, unlocking a range of benefits, including a market-leading 10% savings rate.

Customer Hubs bring banking closer
True to its mission of meeting customers where they are, GoTyme Bank is expanding beyond digital convenience with its new Customer Hubs. Complementing its established kiosk network in TFG and Boxer stores, these branded spaces – primarily located in mall banking courts – offer a more comprehensive and welcoming environment.
At each Hub, trained GoTyme Bank ambassadors provide hands-on support across a full range of services, including account opening, card issuance and replacement, product education, app assistance and account queries.
More locations are set to open in the coming months, expanding access and strengthening the bank’s “phygital” approach—where digital efficiency meets human connection.
