Orange closes online store in SA

The Orange Online Store will no longer be available in South Africa, the company has said.

“We have cherished the opportunity to serve you and would like to thank you once again for your business,” it said in a statement on Wednesday.

“We leave you in the good hands of our trusted partner CTDI (formerly Regenersis) who will assist with any warranty and/or return queries from the 1st of December 2016.”

Orange said CTDI is one of the largest repair providers, with over 70 locations around the world.

“You may rest assured that the CTDI team will take good care of you.”

Visiting store.orange.com now redirects you to Expansys, with the following message:

Hello, we’ve redirected your request to the Expansys Online Store. You can now find all the latest high-tech devices on our partner’s website!

Please rest assured, whether you’re considering ordering today or if you’ve already ordered from Orange, that the Expansys team will take good care of you. If you wish to contact the Orange customer support, you can do so thanks to the contact details at the bottom of the page.

Well, Orange SA = Expansys. So it is only a name change as far as I am concerned,

It’s nothing like a name change. Orange is handing over existing SA customers to CTDI. The Expansys quote above is misleading. The Expansys message applies only if you are planning to buy something new through Orange’s global website.

I am not talking about warranty issues, I am talking about sales (it is a store, you know). The same way as in March 2014 Orange and Expansys joined forces, so they are now parting ways.

well, not surprised, their product support was abysmal

Nooooo. They were one of view that actually sold Lumias at a steal!

Bugger, now the upper limit price reference is gone!
