In WirelessG’s court submission in its ongoing legal battle with Vodacom, the company said that it “has entered into negotiations with MTN to offload mobile traffic onto Wi-Fi, and an agreement of intent has been signed”.
The details about the agreement and MTN’s plans regarding mobile traffic offloading onto WiFi remain sketchy.
Fusi Mokoena, the general manager for commercial legal at MTN SA, said that the business relationship between MTN and WirelessG is subject to confidentiality.
“On this basis, MTN is not at liberty to discuss this relationship,” Mokoena said.
Mokoena added that the WirelessG-Vodacom legal matter is before court, and as a result it is sub judice. “Accordingly, this also prevents us from commenting on same,” he said.
