Times Media takes Vidi mobile

Vidi, which claims to be South Africa’s first video-on-demand service, says subscribers can now watch its content on any device including tablets and smartphones, and without an app.
Times Media Group launched the subscription video service at a price of R149 per month, in September.
Viewers also have the option to instantly rent the latest releases just off the circuit individually for R27, along with a selection of ‘premier’ titles starting at R15.
Viewers don’t require a dish or a decoder and they can cancel their subscription anytime as there are no contracts.
TMG noted that if subscribers prefer using an app, that option is available through Android and IOS as part of the second phase of Vidi’s roll-out.
“Now available across multiple devices, viewers can stream content on PC, Mac, Laptop, Apple and Android Tablets and Smartphones. You can access Vidi through your browser on any device or you can download Android or IOS apps.
“You can also connect your device to your television via a HDMI cable for immediate big screen entertainment,” it said.
