Pinnacle Africa has appointed Max Stone as its new enterprise mobility business division director.
Pinnacle Africa is a South African distributor of ICT equipment, part of the JSE-listed Pinnacle Holdings group.
Stone will fill the position effective immediately (2 April 2013), taking over from Alf Isaacs who retired at the end of February.
Stone will be responsible for managing the division that supplies enterprise technology and point-of-sale equipment to the retail, manufacturing and supply chain markets.
“We are pleased that Max is joining us to head up the EMB and PinPos division. This vertically aligned business unit represents an important growth area for Pinnacle” said Louis Fourie, CEO Pinnacle Africa.
“Max is one of the most experienced individuals in the enterprise mobile computing market and will bring a great deal of value to our business. We are confident that Max can align this broad product portfolio and develop the division to be the leading supplier of technology and solutions to the retail, logistics and manufacturing markets in Southern Africa.”
In early March, Pinnacle reported a 14.5% rise in group turnover for the six months ended December 2012, to R3.1 billion, with all sectors “contributing well”.
The group noted that fully diluted headline earnings per share of 93.8 cents was up 19.8%, while earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation lifted 16.1% to R229 million.
