T-Systems in R67.5m govt contract

T-Systems in South Africa has been awarded a SAP Application Management and Modernisation (AMM) contract by the Department of Water Affairs worth R67.5 million.

The three-year agreement, awarded following a tender process, continues T-Systems’ relationship with the DWA.

The ICT provider was responsible for the implementation of a Revenue Stabilisation programme in 2010 to improve business systems and processes.

MD of T-Systems in South Africa, Gert Schoonbee said: “We feel privileged to be yet again appointed a strategic ICT partner of the Department of Water Affairs.”

“Our AMM methodology and implementation will undoubtedly enable the Department of Water Affairs to exploit the benefits of its SAP environment to in turn meet its core business objectives.”

In March, listed ICT group Business Connexion secured a five year R420 million IT Outsource deal with the DWA, beating off rival bidders, T-Systems and EOH.
