VIP private airline coming to the biggest airport in South Africa
CFS Aero has established a new base of operations at OR Tambo International Airport, relocating from its former home in Lanseria.
The move includes relocating the company’s main corporate offices, along with its fleet of managed aircraft.
CFS Aero is a private aviation group that specialises in private charter, aircraft management and private aircraft sales.
The group launched in 2007 as Corporate Flight Services before being acquired by the now-defunct Comair Group, which renamed it Comair Flight Services in 2012.
Following Comair’s collapse, CFS changed ownership in 2025, with Parrot Aviation acquiring the 50% stake previously held by Comair, making the group fully independent.
The company said the move to OR Tambo will position it for future growth while maintaining a presence at Lanseria.
As part of the transition, OR Tambo will become the new headquarters for CFS Aero, providing enhanced infrastructure, greater connectivity, and better access to aviation support.
The company said that, despite the move, it will keep operating at Lanseria airport to ensure ongoing flexibility and convenience.
It also said the relocation forms part of the company’s long-term plans to grow its platform to support the increasing demand for air travel.
CFS Aero managing director Kerry Searle said the relocation to OR Tambo is an important moment for the company.
“The establishment of OR Tambo International Airport as our primary base of operation represents an important milestone in the evolution of CFS Aero,” she said.
“The move provides access to world-class aviation infrastructure and the premium facilities of Fireblade Aviation, including on-site customs and immigration services, and extensive hangar capacity that will support the continued growth of our managed aircraft fleet.”
“These enhanced capabilities allow us to deliver an even more seamless and integrated experience for both our clients and flight operations.”
Searle emphasised that the move does not mean that CFS Aero would depart from Lanseria Airport.
“Importantly, this is not a departure from Lanseria,” she said. “We will continue to operate from Lanseria International Airport, giving our clients the flexibility of accessing our services from both airports while benefitting from the enhanced capabilities that OR Tambo offers.”
The company said that operating in both OR Tambo and Lanseria would put it in a unique position for accessibility and flexibility.
It said that customers would benefit from being able to choose between the two airports for flights, based on their travel requirements.
Both Lanseria and OR Tambo are considered international airports, with both sitting in Gauteng, the country’s most populous province.
