Watch: Angry citizens beat up would-be hijackers in Durban

New footage has emerged showing citizens coming to the rescue of a man involved in an attempted hijacking in Durban.

The CCTV footage shows two would-be hijackers approaching the driver’s side of the car, which had been opened. The criminals quickly try to force the driver out of the vehicle.

People around the busy area quickly respond, with one woman rushing the hijackers, armed with her handbag.

As more people rush to help, the commotion even attracts the attention of a passing tow-truck, with its passenger leaping out of the vehicle to help before it comes to a complete stop.
