Media24 CEO to retire
Media24 has announced that its current CEO, Esmaré Weideman, will be retiring.
Weideman will be succeeded by Media24 print CEO, Ishmet Davidson.
Weideman’s career in media has spanned over three decades, and she has been at the helm of Media24 for nearly eight years, making her its longest serving CEO.
Under her leadership Media24 transformed from a print-media group to a diversified media company with digital and e-commerce brands, while retaining a portfolio of household print brands.
Davidson meanwhile joined Media24 in 2012 as head of community newspapers. He became the head of its news division in 2014, after which media distribution company On the Dot and Media24’s magazine division were added to his responsibilities.
The change of CEOs will be effective 1 October 2018.
