Telecoms veteran Enzo Scarcella is leaving his role as chief marketing officer at Telkom after spending three years at the company.
Prior to joining Telkom, Scarcella was the managing executive at South Africa’s biggest mobile network Vodacom from 2008 to 2013.
Scarcella was also previously a brand group manager at South African Breweries (SAB) as well as the marketing director at M-Net and the marketing executive at Edcon Group.
Telkom on Monday confirmed to Fin24 that Scarcella was leaving the telecoms company.
“After almost three years at Telkom our chief marketing officer, Enzo Scarcella, has decided to leave Telkom to pursue a new career opportunity,” Telkom’s executive for external communications, Gugulethu Maqetuka, told Fin24 via an emailed statement.
“When Enzo joined Telkom in 2014, Telkom’s brand awareness and affinity were at a low point. Enzo drove a brand strategy with focus and creativity, delivering the updated Telkom brand and a succession of highly successful campaigns across our businesses.
“We wish him all the best as he embarks on the next stage of his career,” said the company.
It’s unclear where Scarcella is headed to next.
