Mxit has officially appointed three C-level executives this week: Vincent Maher (pictured) as Chief Marketing Officer, Andrew Davies as Chief Operating Officer, and Richard Newton as Chief Financial Offer.
Maher is well known for founding Motribe and selling the mobile company to Mxit, after which he served as Mxit’s vice president of product strategy and growth.
In his new position Maher will be responsible for product strategy, growth, UX, marketing and communications, the apps platform and APIs, Mxit Reach, search and discovery.
“It’s a broad portfolio but all connected by our growth strategy for 2013,” Maher told BusinessTech.
Davies served as Mxit COO from November 2012. He was previously a management consultant at Teim Ventures, and the MD of Global Telecom.
Before becoming Mxit CFO Newton was involved in the finance department of World of Avatar and served as the finance manager of The Body Shop.
