A look at the R21 million canal house in South Africa’s ‘little Venice’

A house in Canals, St Francis Bay, Eastern Cape is on the market for R21 million.
Pam Golding said that the home is in the sought-after Praslin Reach, found in a secluded area of the canals.
The ground floor has two ensuite bedrooms, a spacious kitchen and a full bar. Other amenities include a guest restroom, walk-in pantry, scullery, laundry, and a convenient double garage.
There is also a fireplace in the lounge, whilst the dining area houses a large table.
Upstairs, there is a small office nook and a pyjama lounge. The main bedroom also comes with an ensuite bathroom and large walk-in cupboards.
Two more ensuite bedrooms and a sixth bedroom with private access are also found upstairs.
The chilled balcony also has views of the canal and the outdoor entertainment area, with the latter including a decking, a large pool, and steps leading down to another decked space of 30 sqm which features a gazebo.
All the furniture, appliances, kitchenware, bedding, etc, are included in the purchase.
Just Property, which shares a dual mandate on the property, said that the Kromme River can be navigated for 10 km by leisure boat or canoe.
“Fish from your front lawn, enjoy a daily sightseeing around town, or simply relax and finish your day with a sunset cruise in South Africa’s ‘Little Venice’,” Just Property said.
