South Africa’s largest shopping mall getting R100 million luxury lifestyle development
Construction has started on The View, a new luxury lifestyle development coming to Fourways Mall, the nation’s largest shopping centre.
The R100 million new destination will be at the corner of Cedar Road and Witkoppen Road.
The development forms part of the broader repositioning of Fourways Mall, aligned with the strategy set by JSE-listed Accelerate Property Fund, as co-owner of the asset.
The new development aims to benefit from the demand for high-end dining and lifestyle experiences in the Fourways area.
“Once completed, the R100 million adjacency will further define the Fourways precinct, anchored by the mall,” said Flanagan & Gerard, which is the strategic asset manager of the mall.
The View will feature a sweeping view of the Fourways landscape, which mixes a natural backdrop while remaining conveniently close to Fourways Mall.
Convenience was central to the development’s planning, with multiple access points from Cedar Road, Witkoppen Road, and Fourways Boulevard.
Security booms are also being installed to support a safe shopping experience, with free parking for 1 hour and free parking after 5 pm.
The line-up of the new development is curated around lifestyle, leisure and quality, with a strong focus on destination dining, beauty and wellness.
On the ground floor, The Pantry will open in September 2026. It will offer a full grocery shop with an in-store butchery, gourmet products, speciality wines, hot meals, a bespoke bakery and ice cream parlour.
There will also be a tashas, which will bring the popular luxury chain to Fourways for the first time.
Fournos Bakery is set to open on 1 May 2026, while Liquor Lane will offer a premium selection of liquor.
The lower floor will also have spaces designed for longer, more social visits, which include a Clay Café that will open in mid-2026, and will sit alongside Nonna’s Italian Grill.
On the upper level, local favourites, including Mangwanani Spa, Popsicle Nails and The Piercery, will move to the location.
“Together, these brands will create an environment that works just as well for a quiet weekday visit as it does for sundowners with friends after a padel game,” said Flanagan & Gerard.
John Holley, Financial Director at Flanagan & Gerard, said that The View will play an important role in strengthening the wider Fourways Mall precinct.
“The redevelopment of The View represents a key milestone in redefining the precinct as a cohesive, lifestyle-led destination,” said Holley.
“Its position at the corner of Cedar and Witkoppen Roads offers an unrivalled setting for a premium convenience centre.”
The focus was on attracting strong retailers to bring distinctive, experience-driven concepts to Fourways.
For tenants, the decision to invest in the new development was driven by a strong belief in the precinct’s evolving identity and long-term potential.
“The Pantry’s new store reflects confidence in the destination’s direction. Fourways represents energy, growth and community, and Pantry is built for exactly that,” said Gary Kyriacou, co-founder of Marble Hospitality Group.
“Fourways is an area we’ve long had our eye on. Now that we have found the right partner and location, we’re very excited to open our doors and become part of this vibrant community,” added Natasha Sideris, CEO of the Tashas Group.
Construction is set to progress throughout 2026, with the aim of bringing a lifestyle destination featuring views that are rarely found in the city.
