Masie, Nyati appointed to AdvTech board
Listed education and staffing group, AdvTech has appointed Stafford Masie And Mteto Nyati as independent non-executive directors with effect from 8 January 2014.
Masie has held senior executive positions at Novell USA and subsequently at Novell South Africa. He established Google´s presence in South Africa in 2006 and was appointed Sub-Saharan Africa GM in 2007.
After leaving Google in 2009, he established his own business and is now an entrepreneur with a particular interest in early stage start-up businesses in the IT industry.
In 2013 he unveiled “thumbzup” an international payments innovation company partnering in South Africa with Absa.
He is also active as a business school lecturer, participant in several radio broadcasts and speaker on the influence of technology on modern day life, society and education.
Mteto Nyati has spent the last 17 years in the IT industry, first with IBM, both in South Africa and abroad, becoming Director of IBM Global Technology Services for
southern and central Africa.
In 2008, he joined Microsoft South Africa as managing director, a position
which he still holds. He led Microsoft South Africa to be a locally relevant multi-national through his focus on education, skills for employability and enterprise development.
