Vodacom appoints new chief strategy officer

Vodacom has appointed Yolanda Cuba as chief officer of strategy and business development, with effect from 1 November 2014.

Neil Gough currently serves in the role of chief officer of strategy development at Vodacom.

Cuba is an independent non-executive director at  the mobile operator and will become a member of the Vodacom Group Executive Committee.

As a result of this change, Cuba’s status on the board reverts to that of a non-executive director with immediate effect. She will step down from the board with effect from 31
October 2014.

Cuba is currently the executive director:  strategy & business support, at South African Breweries (SAB), a position she has held since February 2012.

Prior to joining SAB she was the Group CEO of Mvelaphanda Group, while she also also serves on a number of boards including Barclays Africa Group Limited.

Cuba has a BCom (Statistics) and BCom Honours (Accounting) CA(SA).
