Petrol price to decrease in November

The retail price of 95 octane petrol will decline by 10 cents per litre on Wednesday, 7 November‚ the Department of Energy announced on Friday (2 November).

The price of 0.05% sulphur diesel will cost 10.2c/l more while that of 0.005% sulphur diesel will rise by 9.2c/l.

During the period under review‚ the average international product prices of petrol‚ diesel‚ and illuminating paraffin decreased.

The average rand/dollar exchange rate weakened when compared to the previous period‚ the CEF reported. The average rand/dollar exchange rate for the period September 28 to November 1 was 8.6479 compared to 8.3075 during the previous period.

Petrol 95 ULP octane in Gauteng will now cost R12.10 a litre‚ while at the coast it will cost R11.75 per litre.

The single maximum national retail price for illuminating paraffin will increase by 4c/l to R8.70 per litre.

The maximum retail price for liquid petroleum gas will increase by one cent per kilogram.
