Media24 Magazines, a subsidiary of Naspers, has confirmed that it will cease to publish AdVantage Magazine, after 20 years of circulation.

Advantage is a leading B2B magazine for the media, marketing, advertising industry in South Africa and claimed to have 20,000 readers each month.

“It is with deep regret that we announce that AdVantage Magazine will be closing. The July issue will be the last the industry will see of this iconic publication. The AdVantage team would like to thank the industry, our readers and advertisers for their loyal support over the last 20 years,” the magazine said on its website.

Media24 Magazines could not be contacted for additional comment.

In June, Naspers owned online news publisher, 24.com announced its decision to disband its Afrikaans Nuus24 channel.

In December, iconic sports magazine Sports Illustrated was also forced to cease operation following declining revenue and circulation figures, while health and wellness title, Shape, closed in October 2012.
