MTN aims to improve service quality with new consumer chief
MTN says it has appointed Larry Annetts to the position of chief consumer officer as part of an ongoing quest to improve service quality.
Annetts’ role will include consumer marketing, he will also be responsible for overseeing all activities related to the sales and marketing division, the mobile operator said.
“He will also be expected to maintain a focus on innovation and efficiency and drive a holistic approach to deliver segmented propositions to the consumer whilst supporting other revenue streams within MTN SA,” the company said in a statement.
Annetts has been at MTN Group since 1995. He served in a number of roles including serving as chief marketing officer of MTN Nigeria and chief marketing and strategy officer at MTN Irancell.
“In his previous role in South Africa, he introduced a range of exciting first to market voice and data propositions including the popular MTN WOW,” MTN said.
In the financial year ended 31 December 2015, MTN SA grew data revenue by 37.2%, and the prepaid segment increased by 12.3% to 25.3 million on the back of attractive voice and data offerings.
