Microsoft says it may terminate Paint from Windows 10
Microsoft says it may terminate Paint from Windows 10, having been introduced with the first version of Windows in 1985.
The tech group’s next Windows 10 update, called the Fall Creators Update, will terminate many features including Outlook Express, Reader app – which will be integrated into Microsoft Edge – and Reading List, also integrated into Microsoft Edge.
Microsoft Paint has been added to the ‘deprecated’ list which Microsoft explained ‘are not in active development and might be removed in future releases’.
“This list is intended to help customers consider these removals and deprecations for their own planning. The list is subject to change and may not include every deprecated feature or functionality,” the technology company said.
It is not yet clear when this next update is expected to take place, with many speculating that it may be in October.
