Bytes training subsidiary lifts revenue by 15%
Bytes People Solutions, a division of Bytes Technology Group, says that focusing on a core strategy to improve profitable revenue growth is paying off as it lifted revenue by 15%.
The company says it performed above expectations during the past financial year with revenue and earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) increasing 20%.
Bytes People Solutions provides internationally accredited education, training, skills development, content development, online learning technologies and people consulting services.
Bytes Technology Group is wholly owned by JSE-listed Altron Group.
“This was a good start and proved to us that our drive to implement a culture of high performance which incorporates service excellence coupled with a dynamic and flexible offering to our customers is the right strategy for our company,” said MD, Dr Madelise Grobler.
The company head believes that the success of Bytes People Solutions in skills development and training is based on its approach to provide customers with a technology road map based on a thorough business analysis which is then supported by specific training interventions.
Grobler notes that she and her team selected a few key areas on which they concentrated to improve profitable revenue growth such as the installation of Sales Tracker a sales tracking system to afford them real time visibility of sales activity. “We also relooked all processes within the business. Together, these new initiatives have increased the company sales exponentially over a very short period of time.”
The company lead said the company has also introduced a number of innovative offerings to further improve revenue streams. “The launch of our Classroom in a box is, for instance, a cost and effort savings solution consisting of computers, cables and data projector that are used to provide the training at the customer’s premises. This offering is proving to be a great success because it is aimed at easing the input required from the client,” Grobler said.
She says that the challenge lies in continually improving and extending service offerings. In this regard the hi-tech, real-time training facility with live teacher instruction installed at Bytes People Solutions headquarters in Midrand as well as in the Western Cape and Kwa-Zulu Natal is aimed at addressing the high expenditure of companies on training, particularly in terms of travel and accommodation costs.
It also provides regional customers access to offering previously only available in Gauteng. “This state-of-the-art technology enables seamless integration between the whiteboard and video-conferencing endpoints and increases learner participation and interaction,” Grobler said.
“We are excited about the year ahead and the implementation of our extensive strategy for growth. We are now looking at partnering with service providers to take the Classroom in a box offering into Africa; searching for acquisitions to complement our existing offerings; and focusing on extending the content development division and hosting of content through online leading portals which will provide an even stronger foundation from which to grow,” Grobler concluded.
