Samsung SA open to MTN, Cell C and 8ta partnerships
Samsung South Africa has said that the deal with Vodacom Business to provide “premium services” to enterprise is non-exclusive, and that it’s open to forming similar relationships with other operators.
Speaking to media at the Samsung Africa Forum in Cape Town, Samsung South Africa head of Mobile, Paulo Ferreira said that working with the other operators is “a matter of time”.
“Samsung is equally open to engaging in similar partnerships with other South African operators,” he said.
Samsung South Africa and Vodacom’s business arm have entered into an agreement that will see the two companies collaborating on mobile and network infrastructure services for businesses.
The partnership is aimed at providing “premium services to organisations who want to benefit from a more integrated mobile solution portfolio”.
In the partnership, Samsung devices will have customised services provided by Vodacom, catering for specific enterprise customers.
Samsung will provide Vodacom with an on-site team for the provision of the services, which will be able to leverage the technology and footprint of Vodacom’s network.
The initial phase of the agreement is focused on mobile solutions for the enterprise, but will be extended to other multimedia devices down the line, depending on the company’s needs.
