Apple Watch sold in SA
A bidorbuy user has purchased an Apple Watch Sport and Apple Watch from the bidding site – and paid a hefty price.
The Apple Watch Sport retails for between $349 and $399 (R4,200 – R4,800) in the States, while the standard stainless steel Apple Watch sells for between $549 and $599 (R6,600 – R7,200).
The unnamed user ended up paying R10,750 for the Apple Watch Sport, and R13,000 for the Apple Watch, after bids started at R9,000 and R11,000, respectively.
It is not known when Apple Watch device will be available on South Africa through official channels, and at what price, having been launched on 24 April in Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, the UK, and the US.
“He had to wrangle for the aluminium watch with two competitors, and outbid one other bidder for the stainless steel watch,” said bidorbuy.
In September 2014, the first iPhone 6 (entry-level 16GB) to appear on bidorbuy, was sold for R16,499. It is now for sale at the iStore for R9,999.
