South Africa internet hit by another Seacom outage

Seacom has announced that is experiencing multiple outages on the terrestrial network across Egypt.

“All our international connectivity through Egypt has been affected since 06:00GMT on the 28th January 2016,” it said.

The group said that repair teams are on site, and that it will continue to monitor the situation closely and will provide necessary updates.

Local ISP, Smart Village sent a message to clients at 10h00 stating that is was currently affected by the outage.

It said that a break in the Seacom cable is resulting in slow international speed due to congestion of traffic over redundant routes.

This is the second time in a week that the cable operator has suffered a breakage in its systems.

Internet users in the country were left frustrated on Thursday last week following a mass outage.
