 ·29 Sep 2022

The new Irene Link retail mall in the Centurion has opened its doors to shoppers.

The shopping centre boasts 15,000 square metres of bespoke retail, which includes both independent and national brands. It spans three levels and offers free parking and 24-hour security.

National brands include Woolworths Food, Woolworths Edit, Checkers, Checkers Liquor, Westpack, Pick n Pay Clothing, Baby City, Dischem, KFC, Kauai, Bootlegger Coffee Company, Mr Price Home, Miladys and Plumblink.

Featured independent retailers include Mondanette Butchery, Forum Stationers and Execuspecs, among others.

The mall also has some unique features – such as a 10-lane, 25-metre indoor shooting range, as well as the only 8-lane 200-metre underground shooting range in South Africa. The shooting range is operated by Irene Arms and will open in mid-October.

The centre is a Joint Development between Abland Property Developers, Giflo Group and SOM Group.

The mall forms part of phase 2 of Abland’s R2 billion Irene Link smart precinct development, which began construction in 2019.

The 75,000 square metre mixed-use precinct is situated next to the Irene Security Estate in Doringkloof and is already home to several commercial buildings, including the Barloworld Logistics head office  and other campus-like offices.

There are also plans for a future Gautrain station and bus stations in the vicinity, which is expected to augment interest in the node.
